Firecat是一个服务端JavaScript Web服务器。通过firecat你就能够使用JavaScript来构建一个完整的Web应用程序包括客户端(AJAX)与服务端(NSP)。它类似于ASP和JSP,但用VBScript与Java来代替,它使用JavaScript来作为主要的脚本语言。
Firecat特别适合于那些要在服务端发挥他们JavaScript技术优势的Web管理员，Web设计者，Web开发者。Firecat采用Java开发并能够运行在任何Java虚拟机之上但主要的目标是支持一些免费的Java Runtimes像SableVM,JamVM,Kaffe,GCJ/GIJ与Apache Harmony。
